Browser storage

Cookies & storage

No giant cookie wall. This page explains the small amount of browser storage CommuniTEA uses and gives you a straightforward analytics choice.

Basic audience statistics

We use a random browser identifier to estimate live and returning visitors. It is hashed on the server, used only for site statistics, and is not used for targeted advertising or cross-site tracking.

What we store

Authentication and security

Our platform may use session information needed to sign you in securely and keep the service working.

Visitor statistics

A random browser ID may be kept in local storage. The server stores only a hash for up to about 13 months. You can switch this off above.

Community signals

If you use a “love” or “still running” button, a random token helps prevent the same browser being counted repeatedly.

Drafts and preferences

Listing drafts, advert drafts, search history and map caches may be stored in your browser so you do not lose work and the directory can load faster.

Admin interface

Admin tools may remember interface choices such as whether a sidebar is open.

Advertising

CommuniTEA can display adverts, but the directory does not currently use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking to profile visitors. If that changes, we will update this page and use consent where the law requires it.

Clear CommuniTEA browser data

This clears CommuniTEA drafts, local search history, map cache and community-signal data from this browser. It does not delete your account or server-side listing records.
